ABOUT SPECULAR SOUNDS
Specular Sounds launched in 2024, born from a final dissertation project at BIMM University. Founded by head engineer Taylor Maudsley, the company grew out of his freelance sound engineering work while studying at BIMM Manchester. What started as a student project quickly developed into a passionate, professional pursuit.
Based in the Northwest of England, Specular Sounds provides expert sound and lighting services across the region. From remote mixing and mastering to live audiovisual setups, we’re here to bring clarity, creativity, and quality to every project.

FOCUS
The key focus areas for Specular Sounds are venues and artists. We specialise in live sound with optional PA Equipment Hire or Engineer walk-ins for venues. For artists, we offer packages for mixing and mastering audio.
I first worked with Taylor at a live event in Preston. Was immediately put at ease with his friendly manner. Told him what I needed, and he quickly and professionally set up.The sound was pretty much perfect from the get-go and any adjustments I asked for during the gig were quickly implemented.
